Cinema Divina: Mercy – via Zoom
With M Freeman
June 18, 2020
(Contemplative Practice)
In these uncertain times made more intense by nationwide protests of racial injustice, many white people are asking questions like, What can I do? How can I make a difference? This session invites you into contemplative practice with filmmaker Marilyn Freeman and her Cinema Divina, ”Mercy”– a film inspired by a road trip that unexpectedly led her to the troubling religious roots of racism. With film screenings, writing and conversation, Marilyn will guide this contemplative discernment into how racial justice is the work of white people.
