The Contemplative Dimension of the Twelve Steps: A Centering Prayer as Eleventh Step Retreat
With Adina Meyer and Gordon Coffey
August 11 - 16, 2022
This five-night, four-day retreat is open to all members of Twelve Step programs who are experienced in practicing Centering Prayer as the 11th Step and who wish to deepen their understanding of the contemplative dimension of the Twelve Steps as well as their experience of God’s love for them. Using a newly created series of videos in which Thomas Keating teaches the method of Centering Prayer along with its conceptual background with a specific focus on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, we will spend time sitting together, reflecting on Father Keating’s teachings, and taking meditative walks through the beautiful Priory grounds, seeking to improve our conscious contact with God as we understand God.
This retreat will be led by two commissioned presenters of Centering Prayer as the Eleventh Step who are also longtime practitioners themselves, Gordon Coffey and Adina Meyer. The cost is 400 dollars per person, which includes all meals, coffee and tea.
