In the tradition of clay pinch pots this pot was created by wet felting wool fleece.  This particular process of wet felting results in the unexpected and surprising, as seen on the reverse side of the vessel.  Needle felted surface design.

The Pinks are subtle; the Grays are bold.  This is the reverse side:
