Sister Angela Hoffman is currently the Prioress at St. Placid Priory and is very interested in our environment. She cleared the original paths on the Priory property in the 1960s and is still involved in their care. She is emerita from the University of Portland where she taught chemistry for nearly 34 years. Sister’s many interests include the beauty and joy of creation, the many ways humans are invited to serve as God’s hands and co-creators, and how all people, no matter their understanding of God, can work together to make the world a better place for all God’s creatures.
We will immerse ourselves in God’s creative energy and how it affects our lives and our place in creation. First (Ora, prayer), we will considering the Creation story and God’s unspeakable gifts to us and within us. After lunch, we will go outside for Labora (work) as you are able. Finally, we will regroup and share our reflections on the day. This program is for anyone who is interested in in nature, creation and the environment. Families welcome if children are not too young to participate. We will look at creation as God’s self-expression and consider our part in it.…
