September – Saint Ann’s School and Convent opened. Sisters Daniel (Magdalen) Kiefel, Clarilla Ernster, Leonissa Imdieke, and Nathalie Karels with several lay teachers began the school year.
The first issue of The Placidian was printed and distributed, a newsletter to inform the public about community life and to keep our friends informed on fundraising and building of a new Motherhouse and High School.
October 5 (then Feast of Saint Placid) – Abbot Raphael Heider commits to gifting our community with land for a priory and high school. Which portion would depend on where the future I-5 would cut through Abbey lands.
